A Little About Myself

I made the decision to start Acorn House Designs when physical problems made it impossible to continue with my custom sugarpaste flowers business and the wedding cake design competitions that I loved.

Needlework had been a passion long before I learned to do cakes. It had always been difficult to divide time between the two. Being too busy with a big competition cake that could take several months to complete; I would console myself with the idea of the projects that I would get to stitch when the competition was over. It was like a reward I would tease myself with every year to help spur me on to the finish.

My husband had said for years that he thought I should make my own designs; so instead of letting myself get bummed over having to put aside the sugarart, I decided to take my love of designing and apply it to needlework.

Acorn House Designs released it's first five designs in March 2008.
